About Asia Health and Education Fund
AHEF was founded in August 2004 and obtained a certification as Non-Profit Organisation from Tokyo Metropolitan government on 10 August 2005. The objective of AHEF is to “offer the people of Asia and the world who need support, through on-site investigation and in liaison with local authorities, funding schools and medical facilities, offering scholarships, providing necessary cooperation and/or suggestion to bring up talented people mainly in fields of health, hygiene, nursing and medical care, aiming to contribute the autonomous development of the people.” (Article 3 of the Charter)
We have been active by donation at the time of establishment from the late Mr. Teijiro KITAMURA, the founder of an enterprise, Nittokiki Co., Ltd,, and by subsequent contributions. We have not carried out any profit-making business until now.
Our activities are divided in two groups, one is the support of public health projects in Savannakhet province of Lao P.D.R., and another is the support of education projects for Quinghai Nationalities University, Department of Japanese Language etc. in Quinghai province, P.R. China.
